Leilane is a Brazilian multidisciplinary theatre artist working as a scenic designer, actor, director and playwright. She is currently an MFA candidate in Scenic Design at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Leilane’s multidisciplinary training informs her scenic design practice, allowing her to approach space as an expressive and emotional extension of performance, often informed by principles of visual poetry.
Leilane’s work focuses on visual storytelling, abstraction, and immersive environments. She is interested in how space, color, texture, and image can translate emotional states and support narrative, creating worlds where design and performance are deeply interconnected.
As a visual artist, she has exhibited watercolor works in Brazil and the United States, including the International Contemporary Art Salon at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. She is also the founder of Inquietações Theatre Company, an independent Brazilian theatre company dedicated to original creations.
Leilane is passionate about international collaboration and creating theatre across cultures. Her work is driven by the belief that theatre is a powerful tool for connection, reflection, and cultural exchange.
